This work was completed in Alice Springs on the 16.09.11, Working Images available.Charmaine's main inspiration is Awelye, Awelye which refers to womens ceremonies and body paint. The women anoint their upper body with ochre markings, before dancing in a ceremony. The women paint each other's bodies in designs relating to a particular Tjukurrpa "dreaming". The designs are painted on the chest and shoulders using powders ground from ochre, charcoal and ash. The circles on the painting represent the sites and movement where ceremonies are held.
