Datjuluma Guyula

Datjuluma's skin name is Galikali and her moiety is Dhuwa. She is from the Djambarrpuyngu, Dhalpiyalpi clans and her homeland is Dhambaliya (Bremer Island). Dhambaliya is a small community, 40 kilometers north east of Nhulunbuy, NT.

Datjuluma works in the cross hatched sacred designs of her mother and father's clans. Her father was a Djambarrpuyngu clan member and her mother was a member of the Manggalili clan. Her work is multi-layered, recreating the lives of the ancestral beings in the landscape.

Datjuluma is married to Djawa Yunupingu, a senior Gumatj clan leader and younger brother of Galarrwuy Yunupingu AM.
