The phases of the moon tell us not only when the big tides are coming but when different tucker will be plentiful. During full moon and new moon, barramundi and salmon are plentiful and at low tide, it's a good opportunity to go crabbing and collecting mussels, periwinkles and other molluscs. At neap tide, other types of fish that hang around the reef are good for spearing.
