Helen's Country at Bulgul lies on the coast, south west of Darwin, towards the Daly River mouth.
The sea represents an essential source of food for Helen's people. Off shore from Bulgul, towards the island of Bokene lies a reef which is an excellent place for fishing.
This painting depicts Helen's people fishing and the colours of the reef under the water, together with the reflections of the camp fires on Bokene where others are cooking up their catch.
