Jean Hudson Nampijinpa

Jean Hudson Nampitjinpa was brought up by her family in the traditional Law. She inherited Warlu (Fire) Dreamings from her father, Ngapa (Water) from her grandfather and Kanmarra (Bush Onion) from her mother. Her mother and father were from Mt. Allan, and Jean worked at Mt. Allan homestead doing domestic duties, and now lives in Melbourne painting full-time. At first she produced art using very traditional iconography, then her paintings took on a more impressionistic look. She took part in many group exhibitions and had some solo exhibitions as well.
