Bulgul lies on the coast, south west of Darwin, towards the Daly River mouth.
The country round it is dominated by water and characterised by billabongs, creeks leading into the sea and the sea itself.
The vegetation changes from lush bushland during the wet to desiccated, washed out, tinder dry scrub during the dry.
